It's scary 'cause it's true

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: 'From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”

- Alexander Fraser Tytler (1747–1813)

Glenn Beck is fun. Not as annoying as Hannity and others, and certainly does more work to research subjects than some of the other conservative talkers.

Here's a great article that he posted recently. What's great isn't so much what he says, but all of the links that he provides to cite his references. Check it out!

Thank you for the tips! I just never realized how hard it would be. I've always wanted to be a SAHM and even homeschool, but I'm starting to doubt the whole homeschool thing! For me, it's not having energy that is the killer. I just look forward to the day when I can just enjoy the kiddos without being pregnant, nursing, or have a newborn!

Oh, great quote by the way (well, maybe not great, but true and stinkin' sad). I have heard it before and it is scary to me.

Love the quote, scary though it is.
Yes losing "weight" is most always good, whether in body mass or in stuff mass.

When do the shivers from this quote go away? Reality check! It is unnerving that we take our civlization and its longevity for granted.
