It was supposed to be a dollar
and then
by the time it left my hand
it was a ten
the cigarette halo
the filth stained hands
saved me from a day
full of impotent plans
on my list: to say thanks
on my heart : not to mean it
on my mind: a Heavenly Father who'd seen it.
Thank you Lord for reminding me that what I have is always enough when I have you.
