9 hours of travel +2 days with family +3.5 hour drive - (no pit stops) = home Tuesday night
Whew! After running a gagillion errands on Wednesday we jumped back in to "real" life today by sending Zak to school and taking the rest of the crew including my niece who is with us until Saturday to Ladies Bible Study. It felt great!
... And now if I can just unpack the 400 lbs of misc we brought back with us (yes I had to weigh everything so I didn't get charged extra and I'm not exaggerating), organize my house that got re-arraigned by the people who carpeted while we were gone, dust and vacuum months worth of neglect and catch up on months of homeschooling and not die of exhaustion I'll be good!
Last night I was so tired I went to bed at 9 and when Eliot woke me up at 9:30 needing lotion bleary eyed little me rummaged through our toiletries and slathered him with self tanner. Since he wore long sleeves today I didn't figure it out until late this morning when I was trying to comprehend why my hands were so orange ... oh well.
Phillip will be visiting us this weekend but will have to go back to Philadelphia on Monday to continue work. We don't know how long he will be doing this so please pray with us that he can move back home ASAP.
that sounds terrible, especially the self tanner and no hubby, but good to have you back!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Back, Jacquelyn!!!!!
ReplyDeletePlease let me know when I can come visit and help you out. The kids will play and you can rest and I will move stuff where you want it.
Sound good?
I didn't know Philip was still gone! Please email or call if you have any school questions. Fear not- we all still feel like we just started school, too! :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! I didn't know the Philip was going to have to stay behind either. :( Poopy. Let us know if you need anything!
ReplyDeleteEven though he's still in Philly, that means work. Does he know what he is going to do when he gets back on this side of the country?
ReplyDeleteThanks guys for your kind offers! Once I find where I packed my brain I'll have to sort out what kind of help I need. Phillip will have work for a while and since we've been running this project through his VFX company we have been saving every spare dime (minus all the trips we made this summer of course). We thought he would be finished today (Friday) but it looks like the project might drag on. His next project doesn't start until January but since it is in Hawaii I'm going to try and find a way to join him for a few days if I can (he would only be there for 2 weeks I think). The bottom line is I would rather be broke and together than have a job that keeps him going all over the place. Life is certainly an adventure and whenever I pray for God to shake me out of my comfort zone He never fails to come through!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jacquelyn. Jeannett said my comment sounded rude, so I apologize if it did. I was genuinely asking to see what kind of feelers or opportunities are out there for when he's done in Philly, to see what I could pray for. I didn't know he was running it through his company, but that is good, and good there is more in the pipeline for January. Being self-employed, I know the pain that comes with it (but it's rewarding too....). So I apologize if it came off rude, as my wife said it did.
ReplyDeleteNo prob Andy! I knew you weren't being rude :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm ultra sensitive, but sometimes type reads a lot of tone especially when the comment is so short? Or maybe I was just having a bad day at work! :)
