To tell the truth, I don't remem...I read it in HS. To tell the truth, I don't remember much about the plot, but I do remember the stream-of-consciousness style was fascinating...and difficult! You are brave. My rule of thumb during all of pregnancy and the first 3ish months or so of baby's life is: read nothing more mentally challenging than Harry Potter. I totally appreciated Faulkner's ability to switch points of view between his characters and write with such different voices for each one. Once you figure out what is going on and that it is jumping around the timeline, it actually isn't too bad.
